Week 3: The Hallway Closet. My closet, like every other space in my house, is an unorganized mess.
BEFORE
AFTER
I love to find stuff around my house to reuse somewhere else. These two old fabric bins were not really serving a purpose in my basement so what better place to use them than in our closet. The labels are chalkboard labels from Martha Stewart.
I keep hats and gloves in one bin and scarves in another.
I bought matching wooden hangers which are more sturdy for our heavy coats.
As for my door, of course I had to put it to storage use since we need the space. The Container Store is having a 30% off sale on all elfa shelving so I had to get some for myself.
Boy am I glad I purchased elfa shelving. I now have all of my wrapping paper, tissue paper, gift bags, cards, and ribbon all in one location.
I finally have my own wrapping station which is perfectly located and discretely hidden. It also doesn't take up much space.
I also keep my vacuum and shampooer in the hallway closet since it is in the center of the house.
I didn't do too much to organize this closet and it didn't take long, but the little I did makes a big impact. Not only did I organize it I also made a new "space" for my gift supplies!
Looks great! =)
